You had a bottle in one hand and a mess of a girl on your mind.

I felt as if the rain was washing away a layer of me I didn’t need anymore. Like a snake
shedding its skin. I was being renewed. -
My lip trembled from holding back the tears.
I kept my end of the bargain. I left you there, standing in the middle of
your living room with your eyes down at the floor. You were not going
to hear from me again. -
When you told me why, I wished I had never asked.
You didn’t do it on purpose. You had to. -
Just tell me why and I will be on my way.
I’ll walk out that door and I’ll never come back through it again. -
